How is it going everyone. I am doing very well. I have learned a lot
here at the MTC. My testimony has grown a lot. I am thankful for my
chance to serve. I was feeling bad for myself last night and we watched a
talk that President Bednar gave to the missionaries in the MTC on
Christmas a couple of years back. Its titled the "The Character of
Christ". I am not sure if you can get access to the talk but if you can
read or watch it!!! It really changed my perspective. I am very excited
to be in Iowa. My plane leaves SLC at 6 a.m. We have to be ready to leave at 2:30a.m. We then have a 3 hour lay over in Dallas, Texas\Fort worth airport. I love you all! Have a great week!!
Elder Josh Lords was called to serve in the Des Moines, Iowa LDS Mission. He reports to the Provo MTC July 16, 2014. He will serve for 2 years. We recently received word that Elder Lords will be coming home July 22, 2016! We cant wait! He will be giving his homecoming talk on Sunday, July 31.

We LOVE Modays.. Its P day!!
Here is Josh's First Letter
Dear Family,
I am doing great! My testimony is being
strengthened. I FLY out the 30th at 6 am.
We are leaving the MTC at 2:30 am on the 30th. We have a 3 hour lay-over
in Texas. I have bought some stuff at the bookstore here because we get it
for half price. I am always tired, but I haven't slept passed 6:20 yet. We
are usually up between 5:30 and 6:20. My companion is Elder Ellis. He is
super smart. We follow rules that aren't even rules. Its good tho! My
testimony is growing so strong. I am here because of my testimony. I
love the Lord and this church! I hope the family is well. Don't hold back
information thinking it will make me homesick. I wanna know it all, the
good and the bad.
Love,
Elder Lords
Love,
Elder Lords
We are so proud of Josh and so happy for him! He has already got to meet up with some friends that are in the MTC as well! He told us he went to an amazing devotional on Sunday night at the Marriott Center. Josh is always telling Shayla and Trevin to be nice and an example to everyone. We are so excited to follow him through his mission!

Saying our goodbyes...
On Wednesday we dropped Josh off at the MTC. It was a very bitter sweet experience. It was so hard to say goodbye to Josh, but there is no place we would rather have him be in this time of his life. He emailed later that night saying he is good. The days are long, but good. He is doing better then expected. That is as much as we know now. So we will just wait for p day anxiously! We are excited to follow him on this journey!
